BUSINESS
A business can take years and a great deal of energy to build with a substantial amount of your money likely to be tied-up in physical assets such as buildings, plant, machinery, and stock, even the cost of office furniture and signage.
It can just take one incident or disaster that could undo all of this very swiftly. That is why businesses should help protect themselves with quality business insurance products.
Material Damage & Business Interruption insurance offers integrated protection designed to ensure you do survive a major loss.
The right design makes the difference, allowing owners to run their business with confidence, knowing that they have insurance protection in place.
Business Assets, otherwise known as Material Damage cover, is imperative to the success and survival of any business. This policy provides protection against physical loss or damage to your buildings, plant, equipment, and stock.
In the event of a property damage loss, there is also the need to look towards protecting one’s trading profit and ensuring you are able to survive the financial losses that inevitably follows during the repair or replacement period e.g. securing alternative premises; outsourcing to maintain contracts, lost profits whilst production is down, and paying wages during downtime.
Irrespective of the size of your company, General Liability affords the necessary business protection against any legal liability for harm to another person or their property as a result of your activities. This could include costs involved in defending a claim triggered by the policy.
In a highly regulated society, it is necessary to protect the business from any unintentional breach of most NZ statutory laws. This includes the defence costs, reparations and fines imposed.
Be aware that New Zealand law does not allow a business to insure itself from any imposed fine for a breach against the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Employers Liability insurance provides Business protection against claims made by Employees for damages, as a result of personal injury during the course of their employment, which is not covered by ACC.
This Liability Package provides a suite of coverages, combined into one policy, for the protection against Management exposures.
These include, but is not limited to; Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Disputes Liability, and protection against Crime or Fidelity.
Cyber-attacks are a legitimate business exposure in the 21st century with significant losses to New Zealand businesses, especially SME’s. Cover is for both first and third party losses. Insurance Design has access to excellent providers that offer additional support services within their Cyber Insurance Packages. Just ask for further information
Any business in the industry of Advice or Design will need protection for any error or omission that may have a financial consequence to a third party.
It merely takes an allegation that could devastate a business financially.
Whether it be a large fleet or just a one-man band. If a vehicle is used in any commercial capacity it needs to be insured for such. Cover can include Loss of Use and Third-Party Liability.
Pay little attention to the title, as this can involve Cargo and Transit Insurance via air, sea, or land. Marine Insurance also captures Ship Repairer’s Liability and Carrier Liability exposures, not to mention Commercial Hull.
As a rural business owner, you require that additional protection for your farming or horticultural business, which can include all additional farm buildings, specialised farming equipment, milk & other optional benefits plus Liability covers designed with Rural needs in mind.

HOME & ASSETS
For most people their biggest asset is their home, alongside their vehicles, boats, household contents, collectibles and jewellery.
Accurately determining, and reviewing, the value of your assets is essential to ensuring you are adequately insured.
The right design makes the difference, allowing you to enjoy a worry-free lifestyle knowing you have appropriate insurance protection in place should a mishap occur.
You are covered for any sudden and accidental loss to your home, which includes garages, carports, detached outbuildings within the residential boundaries of your property.
If your property is tenanted (permanently or casually), or unoccupied, or has a self-contained granny flat/sleepout/tiny home, be sure to let us know as this will also impact the cover options that are offered.
This policy is designed to cover you for sudden and accidental loss to your household contents and personal effects while they are in New Zealand:
- at the home, or
- in your possession while in transit from the place where you acquired them to the home, or
- temporarily removed from the home.
We can arrange cover for your everyday drive, collector’s vehicle, vehicle in the course of restoration or weekend drive.
There are several types of insurance of cover for your vehicle, the most common being, Full Cover (Comprehensive), Third Party, Fire & Theft and Third Party Only.
Kiwis love being out on the water and at Insurance Design Ltd we have great options to provide cover for your yacht, launch, trailer-boat, amphibious craft or jet-ski.
Cover includes Third Party Liability that protects you if you are legally liable for damage to another person’s property. Marinas usually require confirmation of this cover if you are mooring there or using their hard-stand facilities.
When you move home, your possessions are not always covered during the move by your Contents policy. Enquire now about taking Transit insurance.
